The first part of Bartók/Apocalypse Man is a solo by Francesco of a Bach piece that was Bartók’s inspiration for his piece. Then there’s an intermission and then we return together to present Bartók’s Sonata for Solo Violin, with Apocalypse Man.

One thing that's very different about our presentation of Bartók/Apocalypse Man is that we enter into a dialogue with the audience after the performance is completed (and once I’m out of makeup - I don’t speak while in makeup). That came about by accident when we spoke with the audience at our open rehearsal in New York before the World Premiere in Italy. We were stunned by the depth and variety of the audience’s reactions and by the thoughtful and profound questions we got. So, we decided to make that part of each performance.
